Culinary Arts & Science

$400.00

STEM starts in the kitchen!  What makes the cookie dough rise? Why does oil separate from the vinegar? And how can you make food into edible works of art? This class series includes an introduction to kitchen chemistry, science and art (including plating) all while making delicious (and often healthy) treats.

This interactive enrichment class introduces children to the science and art of food. Students will practice essential kitchen techniques, learn safe food handling, and investigate topics such as nutrition, the biology of the plant kingdom, and why flavors work together. Each session combines an activity with a simple science or art project using prepared foods, making learning both delicious and memorable.

Recipes and handouts included.
